Austin Airport Opens Family Lane

Thursday November 20, 2008
The Austin Bergstrom International Airport has introduced a new feature just in time for the busy Thanksgiving season. The new concept is having family lanes at all the security checkpoints.

It's not a fun feeling when you're trying to get all the kids' shoes off and their bags in the bins while people behind you are glaring at you for being so slow. That's what these new lanes are here for; the airport wants families to be able to take their time going through security and not feel rushed by other travelers.

Families are not required to use this line, and any traveler can go in this line if they choose. It's just for those who don't want to feel the stress of hurrying through security during one of the craziest times of the year. Not a bad idea!

Thanks for the information about the family lanes! I will be traveling soon and didn’t realize they had added those.
