Trail of Lights Opens Tonight

Sunday December 14, 2008
Austin's beloved Trail of Lights, an annual 1.25-mile display of Christmas lights, opens tonight. It will be open every night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through December 23.

The trail is quite a spectacle, with 41 lighted scenes of everything from Dr. Seuss books to Disney movies, in addition to more adult-friendly, artistic displays. There are also food and beverage stands, two stages of live entertainment, a crafts fair, a huge Yule log, Santa's post box, and a holiday train ride.

If you make it there tonight, you will also get to see the opening ceremony, with giant puppetry, music, and Santa's sleigh.
