Texas Longhorns: Are You Ready For Some Football?!?!

Follow me on:

footballIt's been a long, hot, dry summer in Austin. But sports fans, the time is drawing near. It's time for some Texas Longhorns football. The BCS Rose Bowl results are forgotten. Let's gear up for a new season.

And yes, there is life after Colt McCoy. Garrett Gilbert is ready to make you forget the prior QB and focus on a new season. He saw quite a bit of action in the BCS Rose Bowl -- but again, let's think about the future.

In the early college football polls, both USA Today and ESPN.com's Power Rankings have Texas ranked at #4. That's pretty good. Texas was ranked #2 in 2009.

So if you bleed burnt orange, then mark your calendars with the 2010 Texas Longhorns schedule. There's really no excuse to miss a home game. And Dallas is 3 hours up I-35. Oklahoma vs. Texas in the Cotton Bowl at the State Fair of Texas is just insane fun. You haven't truely lived if you haven't attended a Texas-OU game. The State Fair turns into a sea of burnt orange (and maybe 50,000 or so in red). Corn dogs and beer: the breakfast of champions.
