Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum

Located at the corner of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Blvd., the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is an easy walk from the State Capitol to the south and the UT campus to the north.

Seven areas house permanent and temporary exhibits, theaters, gift shop, and cafe. The theme throughout - the story of Texas.

Saying that it's as big as Texas is no exaggeration. This mammoth museum is large enough to hold the original Goddess of Liberty from the top of the State Capitol (replaced during renovation), a 1/3 scale model of the Lunar module, a full-size windmill, and a circa 1940 AT-6 "Texan" airplane. But don't miss the smaller exhibits including historic documents, artifacts, photos, diaramas, and talking displays and videos.

Hours: M-Sa 9-6 | Su 12-6 | Later hours may be available for the IMAX Theatre | Closed New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
