Texan Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th President of the United States. His library, one of the largest of the presidential libraries and the most visited, sits on the University of Texas campus at 2313 Red River, just a few blocks north of the Frank Erwin Center. The library and museum complex is filled with memorabilia and important papers from his term in office and those turbulent times that included the Vietnam War. Open daily from 9-5, admission is free. Other nearby sights include Bass Concert Hall, the UT Football Stadium, Texas Memorial Museum, and the UT Tower.
