While it can be fun to see Austin make the lists of Best cities for singles, fitness, business, etc., we unfortunately also make some of the lists of Worst cities. Austin is considered one of the top "allergy capitals" in the US. There are allergens in the air throughout the year in varying amounts but for Central Texas, Cedar Fever is often one of the most annoying. Sniff, sniff. Ah choo!
2006 Spring Allergy Capitals
Austin takes spot #26 as "the most challenging places to live for the year 2006 for people who suffer from spring allergies."
2005 Fall Allergy Capitals
Uh oh. Austin / San Marcos came in at #14 in Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's most severe cities for people with allergies during the fall season of 2005. That's not good news for area allergy sufferers although an improvement over previous year's rankings.
