Austin Reggae Festival - Bob Marley Festival

Held each April, the Austin Reggae Festival (formerly the Bob Marley Festival) celebrates the loving spirit of Bob Marley and his message of peace, tolerance, and non-violent change."Marley Fest" as it has come to be known, was founded in the spring of 1993 and is the largest third-world music event in all of Central Texas. Past performers include Inner Visions, Jethro Jeremiah, Killer Bees, King Chango, The Majestics, Root 1, Tribal Nation, and Watusi. Over the years it has turned into the largest food procurement event for the Capital Area Food Bank.

Austin Reggae Festival:

The 15th annual Reggae Fest is Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20. The festival will be held at Auditorium Shores, the music starts and the gates open at noon and ends at 10pm. This year's event includes an arts & crafts festival and exotic foods. 2006 Reggae Festival Photo Gallery

Admission:

Admission is $10 and two non-perishable food items to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can only be bought at the gate.

Music:

Saturday's line-up includes Luciano with Mikey General, Higher Heights, Grimy Styles, Mr. Brown, Full Service and Ryan Scroggins & Trenchtown Texas.
Sunday's line-up includes Culture with Kenyatta Hill, Qwiksand, Jah Roots, Mau Mau Chaplains, Lionhead, Don Chani and Tribal Nation.

Parking / Shuttle:

There is paid parking at the Palmer Events Center (across the street from Auditorium Shores). Or park downtown (fees may vary) then take a free shuttle from 3rd and San Antonio out to Auditorium Shores.

Items allowed / not allowed:

Blankets, lawn chairs, tents (but no overnight camping), sunscreen and ice chests filled with ice only (no drinks or food) are allowed at the festival.
Food, drinks, dogs (this year only), unfriendly attitudes, weapons and anything else that seems unacceptable will not be allowed at the festival.
