Ben Crenshaw was born in Austin in 1952. He attended Austin High School, where he played golf. Upon graduating, he attended college at the University of Texas. He turned pro in 1973 and went on to become one of the top 10 golfers. Crenshaw is considered to be one of golf's best putters.
