Actor Dennis Quaid

Actor Dennis Quaid was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After being trained in acting at the University of Houston, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He has starred in a huge amount of films, such as "The Right Stuff," "Great Balls of Fire!," "Wyatt Earp," and "The Alamo." He visited Austin from time to time for charity and film events and each year is a part of the Dennis Quaid Charity Weekend, a golf event that benefits local childrens' charities. In 2004, Quaid married Austin real estate agent Kimberly Buffington, and they had twins in 2007. In 2008, Quaid announced that he planned to raise the twins in Austin.
