Cyclist Lance Armstrong

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong is one of Austin's pride and joys, even though he is a Plano native. The professional cyclist and cancer survivor owns a home in Austin and a ranch in the Hill Country. Armstrong's cancer-fighting organization, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, is based in Austin. Armstrong is known to be good friends with actor Matthew McConaughey and the two are often spotted around Austin together. Like McConaughey, he is a huge fan of the University of Texas Longhorn football team and is sometimes seen on the sidelines.
