Actress Renee Zellweger was born in Katy, Texas, just outside Houston, in 1969. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for college and with a major in English. However, after taking an an acting course, she fell in love with drama and decided to pursue it, and was able to stay in Texas for a while before relocating to Hollywood. She supported herself at the beginning by being a waitress in Austin. After landing commercials and some small movies such as "Reality Bites" and "Empire Records," she catapulted into fame with her role in "Jerry Maguire" and has since starred in hits such as "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Cold Mountain."
