Rhapsody by John Yancey at Urdy Plaza
This permanently installed public art project is the work of John Yancey, an east Austin resident and UT Art professor. He was assisted by Luis G. Alicea and Steven B. Jones. This signature block appears just under the Jazz Quartet on the wall closest to 11th Street.

Constructed of thousands and thousands of pieces of broken tiles, "Rhapsody" appears on the front or street-facing side of two irregularly shaped cement walls. Primary scenes include a jazz quartet, children fixing a bicycle, neighbors gathered on a front porch, and an elderly couple strolling down the street.
