Dr. Charles E. Urdy PlazaRhapsody and Sankofa Public Art Murals Urdy Plaza sits at the corner of East 11th Street and Waller Street, just east of Interstate 35. Named for Dr. Charles E. Urdy, a professor and community leader, the plaza includes a clock tower, open paved plaza, greenspace and a few park benches. However, the centerpiece of Urdy Plaza is a bright, colorful tile mural entitled "Rhapsody" (streetside) and "Sankofa" (parkside) a mosaic mural of tile, glass, and metal. |
