Does Austin have any drop-off recycling centers?

By , About.com Guide

Question: Does Austin have any drop-off recycling centers?
Answer: Yes! The City of Austin Landfill’s Recycling Diversion Center at 10108 FM 812 accepts appliances, car batteries, aluminum cans and large metal items for recycling at no cost. They do not accept microwaves, televisions, computer monitors or used oil.

A nonprofit organization, Ecology Action, has a free recycling drop-off center in downtown Austin at Ninth Street and I-35. Go to their website to learn about what materials they do and don’t accept.
