Definition: A community in Southwestern Travis County and a road in South Austin that leads to Manchaca, it's misprounounced by both visitors and locals. Manchaca gets its name from Manchaca Springs, named for a man named Jose Antonio Menchaca. Some stories claim the name comes from an Indian word.
