One-Stop Entertainment Shop:

The Alamo Drafthouse theaters are incredibly unique and provide a one-stop shop for movies, food, and drinks. Every other row in each theater has been removed and replaced with a long table. Throughout the show, you can place orders for food (pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and more) and alcoholic beverages (primarily beer). You just write your order on paper that is provided to you and flag it for the waiter. The food is brought out discreetly, and you eat it as you watch your movie. The quirky cinemas are a paradise for Austin movie buffs (especially hungry ones).

Special Events:

The Drafthouse specializes in unique and funny events. They have sing-alongs to films such as "Moulin Rouge" in addition to music videos, such as those of Justin Timberlake. They also have quote-alongs to movies such as "Anchorman."

The downtown location (Ritz) is where most events are held. They have a weekly "Weird Wednesday" feature in which they play bizarre old films. They also have "Terror Tuesdays," which features quirky horror movies. The cinemas also have occasional themed dinners and they participate in local film festivals. Alamo Drafthouse is not the place to go if you just want to see blockbusters!
