The Austin Children's Museum in downtown Austin

The Austin Children's Museum is both an educational and entertaining place in downtown Austin for kids to play.

Emily Starbuck Gerson
First opened in 1983, the Austin Children’s Museum moved to its current location in 1997. The institution aims to provide innovative learning experience for kids and their families. Through interactive exhibits, science demonstrations, camps, workshops, and other special programs, the museum uses play to help local children learn and grow. With everything from storytime to gingerbread house decorating during the holidays, the museum is a fun place for people of all ages. The downtown location within walking distance of many eateries is also hard to beat!
