Question: What Districts Cover Austin and Travis County?
Answer: There are two Texas State Senate Districts, six House Districts, and three US Congressional Districts in Travis County. The lists below give a very rough geographical description for each district. See the additional links to find out exactly which district you are in based on your address and who represents you.

Senate Districts
Travis County (including Austin) is primarily District 14 although a tiny bit of Travis County along the south is in District 25 (along with Hays, Kendall, Comal, Guadalupe, and a bit of Bexar County).

House Districts
The district numbers, below, link to PDF files containing maps. The districts in Travis County for electing Texas State Representatives can be roughly described as:
- Central/East
46 - Representative Dawnna Dukes
District 46 includes a portion of the City of Austin from just north of Cezar Chavez up to Rundberg, mostly but not entirely to the east of IH 35. - South/Southwest
47 - Representative Valinda Bolton
Lakeway, The Hills, Bee Cave, Sunset Valley, and San Leanna are in District 47 - Northwest to Central
48 - Representative Donna Howard
Rollingwood and West Lake Hills as well as parts of Austin north to Spicewood Springs just west of downtown and all the way out to Jonestown and to the Travis/Burnet County lines are part of District 48. - Central
49 - Representative Elliott Naishtat
West of IH35, District 49 stretches from 183 down past William Cannon and encompasses downtown Austin. - North/Northeast
50 - Representative Mark Strama
McNeil Road forms the northern boundary of District 50 which extends into Austin to parts of Spicewood Springs and Rundberg east to the Bastrop County line. - Southeast
51 - Representative Eddie Rodriguez
From Mustang Ridge and Creedmoore up into Austin just north of Cesar Chavez east to Bastrop County is where you'll find District 51.
US Congressional Districts
Travis County helps to send two Texas Representatives to the United States House of Representatives. Congressional District 10 covers the east portion of Travis County while District 21 includes the west and northwest portions of the county. They zigzag right through Austin. Prior to redistricting most of Austin was in District 10.
- 10 - Congressman Michael T. McCaul
Includes Northeast Travis County and all or portions of Bastrop, Lee, Burleson, Washington, Austin, Waller, and the western end of Harris Counties.
- 21 - Congressman Lamar Smith
Includes west/southwest Travis County and all or portions of Blanco, Comal, Real, Kerr, Bandera, Kendall, and some of north and central Bexar Counties.
- 25 - Congressman Lloyd Doggett
Includes Southeast Travis County and all or portions of Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, Fayette, Gonzales, Lavaca, and Colorado Counties.In the 2004 Congressional Race, incumbent (for District 10) Lloyd Doggett ran in the new Congressional District 25,. Lamar Smith ran for re-election in District 21. Republican Michael McCaul was the primary candidate for District 10.
U.S. Senators
Elected statewide rather than by district, current U.S. Senators from Texas are John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
Texas State Board of Education Members
District 5 (Travis County, south of the river) member is Mr. Ken Mercer. District 10 (Travis County north of the river, Williamson County) member is Mrs. Cynthia Dunbar.
