Texas Independence Day 5K Run

Raising money for the Celebrate Texas scholarship fund while celebrating Texas Independence is the goal of the Texas 5, a 5K fun run through downtown Austin.

Texas Independence Race:

The 5th Annual Texas Independence Day 5K Run takes place on Saturday, March 1, 2008 in Downtown Austin. The race starts at 9am on 17th Street, the course continues down Congress, through the Capitol Grounds to 2nd Street and back up north on Colorado to end at 17th Street.

Celebrate Texas:

Celebrate Texas will have a parade on Congress Avenue after the race at 10:30am with a Capitol Rotunda Celebration at noon. Celebrate Texas will also hold Independence Day events on March 2 and 3.

Registration:

Register online for $20. The RunTex Riverside Annex will have packet pick-up from 10am to 6pm on Friday, February 29 and on the morning of the race between 7am to 8:30am. Historical Texas Flag T-shirts available for all participants and the first fifty finishers will recieve unique baseball caps.
